DUKES LONDON has the unique advantage of being situated only a stone throw away from some of the amazing Royal Parks including The Green Park and St James’s Park. Celebrate a very special Royal Birthday

This year sees 200 years since the birth of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and it’s a great reason to have a party. Families are invited to come and help celebrate the bicentenary of their birth at The Lookout, Hyde Park on Wednesday 29th May and learn more about the Victorian period. There will be the opportunity to find out how the royal couple were influential in developing Hyde Park and the Kensington Gardens, as well as a whole host of Victorian activities. Try your hand at yo-yoing, hoop and stick, skipping, or marbles, as well as plenty of other toys and games. There will also be an historical trail around the garden. Fancy dress is encouraged, so don’t forget your Victorian best. Hyde Park is only a short 10-minute walk from DUKES LONDON which means you can easily stroll back to your accommodation for an afternoon treat. Afternoon Tea at DUKES is the perfect way to break up a busy day. Served in our Drawing Room and Conservatory, enjoy delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and pastries, alongside a selection of tea (or chocolate milk for the children!).

Be dazzled at a West End show

The West End is known for its amazing shows and productions and theatre tickets are a perfect choice for a family stay in London. Step away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets and be transported to the drama and spectacle of the theatre – an ideal activity whatever way the British weather decides to turn. Matinee shows are a great choice for families, especially for those with younger children who may have an earlier bedtime. Matinees vary from theatre to theatre; however most shows will have one Saturday afternoon and another one midweek. There are some great choices for the kids including School of Rock, Aladdin and The Lion King. At DUKES LONDON, our dedicated concierge team are always on hand to help with any arrangements you need making. Our team will be happy to help secure tickets for your chosen show and make sure you have a night (or day) to remember.
